Postpartum
A registry list is generally filled with products for your newborn and it's easy to forget to include gifts for yourself and your recovery. Consider adding:
Products to support healing such as a reusable perineum strip
Maternity pads for postpartum bleeding
Breast pads, creams and shields for nipple & breast care
- You could also add products to your gift registry for your hospital bag preparations
Baby Clothing
Your baby will outgrow their clothing quickly in the beginning and we recommend choosing comfortable and convenient pieces for the first 6 months for that reason. We suggest adding to your list:
A range of sizes from 0000 (newborn) to 000 (0-3 months) and 00 (3-6 months)
Rompers with zips for easier for nappy changes (these can also be called growsuits or all in ones)
Short sleeve bodysuits for warm days or long sleeve bodysuits for layering in cooler seasons
Accessories: socks, a hat if going outside in the sun and dribble bibs
Nursery & Sleep
After ticking off your nursery furniture essentials such as a cot and mattress, you can add these suggestions to your baby shower registry to complete your nursery & sleep checklist:
Baby clothes hangers for their first wardrobe and baskets for laundry, nappies or future toys
Your preferred audio & video baby monitor. You can visit a Baby Bunting store to compare your options and select the right one to suit your lifestyle.
Swaddles (we recommend at least two swaddles to start in size small/0-3 month - one to wear while the other is in the wash)
Sleep accessories such as cot sheets, soothers, bedtime books and a white noise machine
Storage Solutions
Add a basket to store toys or nappies and hangers for small baby clothes.
Feeding

Bath & Skincare
From newborn through to toddler, a bath (or shower) before bed can quickly become a favourite in their weekly routine. Our product suggestions to add to your registry list are:
- A small bath support to use inside your adult bath or if you don't have one, a baby bath & stand
- Hooded towels and wash cloths
- A bath thermometer to check the temperature of the water
- Skincare (gentle bath wash, shampoo, skin oils and lotions)
- Grooming products to care for their hair, nails and nose.
Please follow the recommendations from your maternal health nurse before bathing your newborn.
Baby Gear & Play
After ticking your pram and car seat or capsule off your baby gear checklist, we suggest adding the below to your registry for friends & family to gift at your baby shower:
- Your preferred baby carrier
- A bouncer to help you around the house while you need to make a cup of tea or have a shower
- Car-seat accessories (eg: backseat mirror, window shade and seat organiser) and pram accessories such as a pram organiser, stroller clips and a pram toy
Portacot to keep at the grandparents' house for overnight stays or if you frequently travel
- Tummy time gifts such as a floor mirror or play mat and toys to support their developmental milestones
