Little David grew up in Leicester on a university campus, where his father was a professor. As a child, he spent hours in the science library, collecting specimens and creating his own mini animal museum.

He later studied science and zoology, and began working in television so he could be closer to the animals he loved. Through his work, he visited wildlife in their natural habitats and shared their stories with audiences around the world.

This book features engaging illustrations and additional facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of his life and work as a broadcaster and natural historian.
